Mr. Newman has a degree in Computing Science and more than 20 years of oil and gas industry experience. His entire career has revolved around the design, architecture, and development of complex technical and transactional application solutions. Since 1996, he has worked exclusively in the evolving Java world, and has been a pioneer in n-tiered application design and development.

Newman's early career was spent at Digitech and Munro Engineering where he developed departmental technical applications for production and drilling applications. At Munro Engineering, he was the Senior Developer responsible for the evolution of the product base to a client-server architecture. Following that, he was senior technical lead on Java projects with Burntsand, NRG, and the Enbridge Petroleum Exchange.
