DO2 Technologies Inc., a software solutions company that optimizes financial and operational processes between energy companies and their suppliers today announced the release of Version 4.0 of its OpenInvoice™ and OpenContract™ solutions. These Internet-based solutions automate and improve invoicing and field ticket reconciliation and contract management processes.
DO2 Technologies’ solutions are being used extensively by leading operating companies throughout North America. As part of its continuing upgrade program, many new features have been added to the OpenInvoice and OpenContract tools, further enhancing usability and workflow process management.
DO2 Technologies collaborates with its customers and their suppliers on improvements to the technology. Ongoing enhancements are based upon feedback from users across the organization – accounts payable personnel, engineers, field supervisors, as well as vendor representatives. These users have processed thousands of invoices and provide insight to the daily function and capabilities of the application.
“Our team works closely with the operating companies and suppliers to offer continuous improvements and enhanced capabilities to our solutions,” said Doug Spackman, Vice President, Development, DO2 Technologies. “This feedback led to several key enhancements, particularly focused on ease-of-use and application performance. For example, we modified the user interface to enable vendors to more quickly and efficiently enter invoice data through the “Quick Edit” page. Now it’s much easier for operating companies to split-allocate coding for individual line items over multiple cost entities, by percentage or dollar amounts. This makes personnel more effective while increasing the accuracy of data for spend capture and analysis. And, the application continues to be tuned to provide industry leading performance.”
Both OpenContract and OpenInvoice now provide enhanced support for attachments in this newest upgrade. The program accepts unlimited file formats including MS Excel and MS Word documents.
Also included in Version 4.0 is a more robust supplier integration platform. “With our last release, we delivered the ability to transact with PIDX XML, the industry standard for e-invoicing,” stated Spackman. “With the 4.0 release, we have expanded this capability, and are providing suppliers with the option of using the RNIF 2.0 transport and routing protocol, recently approved by PIDX as the industry standard.”

In addition to PIDX XML, the new OpenInvoice release supports invoice creation through multiple import file formats, including the CSV (comma separated value) flat file format. Imports are enabled by a new OpenInvoice feature called “LIDOTM” (Log-In, Drop-Off), eliminating the necessity for suppliers to re-key data from their accounts receivable systems into OpenInvoice.
Suppliers and operators in the upstream oil and gas industry use OpenInvoice to collaboratively create and manage field tickets and invoices. The process automation results in significantly reduced costs, while the spend capture and analysis capabilities allow E&P companies to work toward better relationships with their strategic suppliers.
OpenContract is fully integrated with OpenInvoice to further reduce invoice processing time through its full audit capability and non-contracted exception reporting. The combined solution automatically ensures invoices are priced according to contracted rates for every line item.
