DO2 Technologies Inc., a software solutions company that optimizes financial and operational processes between energy companies and their suppliers, began an aggressive program in February 2003 to on-ramp more than 1600 suppliers into DO2 Technologies’ system during 2003. DO2 Technologies has already surpassed its first quarter on-ramping goals.
Once on-board, these suppliers will have the ability to transact electronically with all operating companies using Digital’s technology. Currently, more than 500 suppliers and a number of operating companies are using DO2 Technologies’ solutions throughout North America. Some of the world’s largest independents are using Digital’s solutions, including Anadarko Canada, EnCana Corporation, Nexen Inc. and Unocal.
The supplier group currently on-board, represents a complete breadth of the energy industry both geographically and by service type. These suppliers include a very diverse mix of companies ranging geographically from the Gulf of Mexico to the Rocky Mountains to Western Canada, and covering the full extent of energy industry services from drilling to compressors to hauling services.
Using DO2 Technologies’ OpenInvoice™ and OpenContract™ solutions, suppliers and energy companies automate and improve their processes for managing field tickets, invoices, and contracts. This fully electronic process dramatically reduces processing time from invoice creation to approval to payment providing benefit for all parties. The process automation results in eliminating up to 80 percent of the internal processing time and cost associated with invoice approval and audit.
“DO2 Technologies has been successful in providing excellent training and support for the energy sector supplier companies. With the support of our member operating companies, we are increasing our supplier on-ramping significantly,” said Bruce Freeman, Vice President, Service Delivery, DO2 Technologies. “We started out the year with a goal to on-board 1300 suppliers and have now increased that goal to 1600. We have had great success and acceptance by the suppliers to date and we have a highly qualified team of energy and technology professionals setting up and training suppliers to use DO2's solutions.”
“Our customers have worked closely with us to develop on-ramping plans for suppliers. As a result, we are working with their most important suppliers in their key geographies across North America,” commented Rod Munro, President and CEO, DO2 Technologies. “We are very pleased that we are gaining broad acceptance among the supplier community, with suppliers ranging from very small regional suppliers to some of the largest global suppliers. We are getting very positive feedback that this is a win-win solution for both operating companies and suppliers.”
“The group works closely with us to provide service and support addressing our specific issues. The system has made it possible for our customers to pay invoices in a more timely manner,” said Patty Berg, Manager, Accounts Receivable, Precision Drilling Corporation. “The group has worked with each of us (suppliers) to ensure our requirements are fulfilled.”
Munro commented, “This initiative to add more than 1600 suppliers this year is quite significant. All suppliers now have an open door to conduct business with all operating companies on our system. This gives the suppliers greater exposure to more companies, while reducing costs on both sides.”
DO2 Technologies delivers Internet-based solutions that automate and integrate financial and operational processes between energy companies and their suppliers. Our products simplify complex workflow processes and enable collaboration within and between organizations. Drilling, Production, Finance, Procurement, and Purchasing departments, as well as external service suppliers and partners all use DO2 Technologies solutions.
