OFS Portal LLC, and Oxy, Inc. signed an agreement that will facilitate the exchange of electronic content and transactional information. OFS Portal is composed of an industry-leading group of world-wide upstream oil and gas suppliers and service organizations and is at the forefront of global eCommerce processes in the oilfield. Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: OXY) is one of the world's largest independent oil and gas exploration and production companies and a major North American Chemical manufacturer.
This new relationship gives OFS Portal members and Oxy an opportunity to work together to support our members' electronic invoicing processes, further promote the PIDX standards and initiate future eBusiness initiatives. The Agreement provides an avenue for OFS Portal members to exchange electronic documents with Oxy via DO2's OpenInvoice and for OFS Portal members to supply content to Oxy's eProcurement internal exchange.
Many of the key aspects of eCommerce between Oxy and OFS Portal members will be governed by this agreement between OFS Portal and Oxy. Since 1999, Oxy has been receiving supplier content used in their eProcurement initiative. Oxy's goal is to get 100 suppliers and 1 million line items, and Oxy is well past the half-way mark. OFS Portal and Oxy, through this agreement, have established terms to facilitate the exchange of electronic content and transactional information and acknowledges to each other their commitment, regarding the confidentiality and use of the electronic data. Furthermore, Oxy's eInvoicing initiative assists our members' organizations to achieve their eCommerce goals by streamlining the payment process using common business processes and PIDX transaction standards.
